The San Francisco Human Rights Campaign Action Center and Store is located at 575 Castro Street, San Francisco, California 94114. The San Francisco Store is on Castro Street between 18th and 19th Streets and is open year round. The HRC Action Center and Store in the Historic Castro DistrictThe San Francisco Human Rights Campaign Action Center and Store in the Castro District is now located in the historic home of civil rights legend Harvey Milk. The new location is the former home of Milk’s Castro Camera, where Milk worked, lived and organized the political campaigns that eventually led him to be the first openly gay man elected into a major public office as a member of the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. The Castro District is the historic bed of the LGBT rights movement in San Francisco. Partnership with The Trevor Project, Harvey Milk Civil Rights Academy and the GLBT Historical Society.The Human Rights Campaign is proud to partner with The Trevor Project, the leading national organization focused on crisis and suicide prevention among LGBT youth the Harvey Milk Civil Rights Academy and the GLBT Historical Society. In addition to being an HRC Action Center and Store, the location includes a work space for The Trevor Project’s crisis and suicide prevention call center. The HRC funded call center includes computer networking and telephone equipment. This partnership enhances The Trevor Project’s ability to train local school workshop volunteers in the Bay Area therefore extending Trevor’s programmatic reach. In addition, HRC will make a $10,000 annual donation for the next three years to The Trevor Project, whose mission to build community and inspire positive change for LGBTQQ youth.
